Course Description
The MSc Periodontology invites you to join our special guest speaker, Prof C. Ramseier, who will give dental professionals an understanding of how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning models can be used to predict periodontal disease progression, tooth loss and treatment outcomes. The session will bridge the gap between complex data science and clinical application in the dental practice.

Objectives
  • To explore the Predictive AI mechanisms, specifically how algorithms analyse patient data such as radiographs, clinical images, genetic markers, and periodontal indices.
  • To evaluate the accuracy and reliability of current AI models in predicting periodontitis and peri-implantitis.
  • To discuss the integration of AI-driven risk assessments into daily clinical workflows to enable personalised patient care.
  • To examine the recommendations for responsible periodontology and the ethical considerations involved in relying on automated predictions for surgical and non-surgical therapies.
Refreshments will be provided.
CPD Certificates will be emailed to attendees following the day.
